SLCOA Annual Meeting & Pancake Breakfast

The annual meeting of this Association is held within the first two weeks of July each year. At this meeting we elect Board of Directors and the annual budget of the Association is approved. We kick off the morning with a pancake breakfast to catch up with neighbors before heading into the annual meeting.

Courtesy Boat Inspector (CBI) Program

Thanks to the State of Maine DEP, the generosity of our Donors and dedicated Volunteers the CBI Program, has been in place at the boat ramp for more than 10 seasons.

The CBI Program is designed to raise awareness of Invasive Species and to encourage boaters to do a self-inspection of their boats, trailers and gear. All inspections are voluntary. The program is the first line of defense in maintaining the integrity of the pond as we know it.

Throughout the summer, inspectors are on duty 10 hours a day at the boat ramp Fridays through Monday and every day during Holiday weeks.

Buoy Program

Our efforts to provide buoys for our pond are a great service to our community for the recreational boaters.

The buoy program is seasonal and relies on volunteers. It takes at least 2 to 3 people to do the changeover and about 2 days of 2-4 hours per day to get the whole pond completed.  Working on the water is enjoyable and it is a great feeling to participate in our community.

Family Fun Night and Gatherings

Plan to join the annual family fun night under the stars and view a movie while munching on popcorn and sweet treats. This event is sponsored by SLCOA and free to all camp owners and guests.

We have had a "fireside gathering" which was a great opportunity to get to know other camp owners by sharing conversation, beautiful sunset pictures, boating and/or fish stories and reminiscing about past events.
